Marilyn Monroe’s 1954 I.D. Card

enhanced-buzz-wide-5356-1362702561-3Monroe’s I.D. card sold for $57,000.

From Bonhams description:

Though this ID card has been reproduced as a souvenir item and sold in stores and has also been seen in many books, this piece appears to be the actual one that Monroe used when she performed for the troops in Korea while she and Joe DiMaggio were on their honeymoon.

And she didn’t even lie about her weight.

Tax Return *~* Returned

Tax Return Returned
I just received my tax return for 2013 back from the IRS. It puzzles me!!! They are questioning how many dependents I claimed. I guess it was because of my response to the question: “List all dependents?” I replied: 12 million illegal immigrants; 3 million crack heads; 42 million unemployed people on food stamps, 2 million people in over 243 prisons; Half of Mexico; and 535 persons in the U.S. House and Senate.” Evidently, this was NOT an acceptable answer. I KEEP ASKING MYSELF, WHO THE HELL DID I MISS

How many of you knew this?

Meaning of the Flag Draped Coffin

I hope you take the time to read this … To understand what the flag draped coffin really means … Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it and is surrendered to so many widows and widowers.

Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?

Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we learn something new every day!

The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.

The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life.

The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.

The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance ..

The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, ‘Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.’

The 6th fold is for where people’s hearts lie. It is with their heart that They pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America , and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic.

The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.

The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.

The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born.

The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.

The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are ! uppermost  reminding them of their nations motto, ‘In God We Trust.’

After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today.

There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In the future, you’ll see flags folded and now you will know why.

Share this with the children you love and all others who love what is referred to, the symbol of ‘ Liberty and Freedom.’

MAYBE THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD READ THIS EXPLANATION BEFORE THEY RENDER THEIR DECISION ON THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.

FORWARD IT; MAYBE SOMEONE WITH THE NECESSARY POWER, OR POLITICAL AND FINANCIAL INFLUENCE, WILL GET IT TO THEM.

IN THE MEANTIME, MAY GOD PROTECT US ALWAYS.

ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

A Day in the New Year

2013

This time last night we were on the verge of a NEW YEAR here in the USA, while other parts of the world had already begun their New Year with much hope and tons of aspirations full of all the joys and excitements with laughter, family, friends, & certainly fireworks of somesort!
Today was probably filled with the traditions of doing their shopping – eating – or whatever IF anything at all.

Here Mom, Dad & I ate Greens and Black-Eyed Peas! – a Southern thing in the south of the USA!

At least that was after the events of this morning …

*** I am certain it is not what this young 18-20 year old male thought would happen to him. !!! ***

WRECK ~~~ Just outside my house.  A little more and he could jhave hit my BIG oak tree or My HOUSE ~~~ so he ended uup hitting one of my palm trees ?!? and ripping off one of his tires … flattened another,  two windows smashed and the passenger side … BAD! .. and the driver side as well as the passenger side .. tore up on the running boards .. and underneath.

THANKFUL that the Young man was not hurt. … at least he said not … but EMT’s did check him out … but he was sooooooooo scared.  As you know, I told him that no one knows his body like he does and anything feels ‘off’ to go to ER… because it cpould come later.

I am just so GLAD that it was not worse … and I know he was glad I stopped yelling at him.

I know for fact – (yes I know – I’m not police … did not see – but I heard & I know this street and how the YOUNG drive it) that he was … as we say ‘flying’…….

I just hope it taught him a valuable lesson and that others might have learned from it too!

I will keep him in my thoughts.

OH ~~~ he also was worried because he only had ID – Not Drivers License … It was his
AUNTS SUV ~ and she stated she had No Insurance. …. So it could have been so much worse.

Now the pictures will show a little – but I’ll tell you ~ It scared the Whits out of ME!!!~~~

The baby gorilla was born on Dec. 22, just months after Kijivu’s second child, Tatu, died after accidentally hanging himself with a climbing rope. Zoo director Miroslav Bobek called the death the most tragic event at the zoo since flooding in 2002 killed more than 100 animals. (© Frantisek Vlcek/isifa/MAFRA/Getty Images)

Pit bull puppy survives being dragged behind truck for a mile

They named him “Trooper” for his determination, but the 5-month-old pit bull that survived being dragged by a truck down a Missouri highway for more than a mile is more like a miracle. Two weeks after surgery to close wounds that exposed bones, Trooper is eating and drinking normally and walking on his own, and Humane Society of Missouri personnel are cautiously optimistic that a badly injured leg may be saved. The trucker, unaware that the puppy had been tethered to his bumper, was obviously distraught once he was flagged down, and now a $5,000 reward has been offered for information that would lead to an arrest. Seth MacFarlane

Seth MacFarlane Will Be ‘Simpsons’ Guest-Voice Next Season

<> on April 5, 2012 in Hollywood, California.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) — Seth MacFarlane may already have three hit animated television shows, one hit raunchy comedy movie and the coveted Oscars hosting job for next year, but the comedian is adding another notch on his resume: guest voicing on “The Simpsons.”

“Family Guy” creator MacFarlane will appear in the season premiere of the 25th season of “The Simpsons” in 2013, Fox Television, home to both shows, said on Friday.

MacFarlane will play a married man who pursues matriarch Marge Simpson after the two meet on a website and form a bond over their love of a “Downton Abbey-esque” show called “Upton Rectory,” show producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly.

The episode will be titled “Dangers on a Train.”

MacFarlane’s guest spot is a crossover for the actor, writer and director, who was inspired by “The Simpsons” when creating “Family Guy,” an animated comedy following the dysfunctional Griffin family headed by dim-witted patriarch Peter, who bears similarities to Homer Simpson.

Both shows air on Fox, and the news comes after MacFarlane featured Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, in a recent “Family Guy” episode.

MacFarlane, 39, also created and voices characters for animated comedies “American Dad” and “The Cleveland Show,” and he had a box-office hit with R-rated comedy “Ted” this past summer.

He will be hosting the Oscars in February.
